Is quitting your job and starting a business really possible ?

Millions of entrepreneurs reveal their plans every year.

But how many see their project through to the end? How many last more than three (3) years? The majority of companies have a lifespan of 3 years before closing down.

Nowadays, entrepreneurship is glamorized, but in reality it requires a great deal of sacrifice: cutting back on expenses and lifestyle, rigor and great perseverance.

The sacrifice won't last forever, but it's necessary to hold out long enough for your project to take off and stabilize.

To grow your project exponentially, you need to devote time to it, and time is the sinews of war.

Is it really possible to grow your business without leaving your salaried job?

Depending on the mental load and responsibilities involved, it's not always possible.

What are the solutions?

Solution 1: Change job for a food job that removes 90% of the mental load (e.g. become a receptionist, etc.).

Solution 2: Work non-stop for a given period of time, cutting out all unnecessary expenses and living on just 30% to 40% of your income

Then resign and devote yourself to your project

Solution 2 bis: If you don't have children, go back to live with your mom and dad (e.g. Steve Jobs);

Move to a country where the cost of living is much lower (Asia, Africa, South America). Example: Thailand, Bali (IDN), Puerto Rico, Morocco etc. ;

Or live in a shared apartment or  hostel.

Solution 3: Work part-time and cut expenses as mentioned above

Solution 4: (a French speciality) Apply to "Pôle Emploi" for unemployment benefits for business start-ups, for a maximum of two consecutive years. On the other hand, it's important to have the savings needed to set up your project. But at least that means you'll have some money coming in for food expenses.

It's important to take risks and live life without regret. But taking calculated risks is even better !
