The art of having a break : avoiding burn-out
Today's busy lifestyle can easily lead to burnout, whether professionally or personally.
We must remember the importance of taking the time to rest and finding strategies to be more productive in order to avoid burnout.
Burnout occurs when we are faced with stress that extends over a long period of time. This heavy stress becomes our daily life instead of being short-lived for a specific goal or event.
By taking the time to rest, we allow the body and mind to recover.
But when the mental load is too high, it prevents real rest due to incessant thoughts. A to-do list with check boxes constantly scrolls through our heads.
I can speak about it with such precision having experienced it. It's like there's no way to rest. When you reach this stage you have to stop everything, unplug, travel, go far away. But before reaching this extreme level there are preventive measures to adopt.
How to integrate rest into your daily routine?
1. Schedule regular breaks
Whether it's a short coffee break, a quick walk, or a nap, schedule regular break times throughout your work day. Personally, I am a fan of micro-naps. 😊
2. Working a all lot that's possibe, especially at the beggining of your career! But avoid jobs with toxic management at all costs.
3. Take down screens
Spending too much time in front of a screen can lead to eye strain and mental fatigue. There is overexposure to noise, to incessant advertising.
4. Pray
Prayer and meditation are great ways to relax and reduce stress to promote a calmer, more balanced state of mind.
Learning to rest is not a luxury, but a necessity to stay healthy.
Take care of yourself, your body and your mind !
