Diesel SS 2026 : when fashion becomes an urban egg hunt
The concept was unveiled on September 23, 2025, at the opening of Milan Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer 2026 season. Under the creative direction of Glenn Martens, Diesel replaced the traditional runway with an installation of capsules spread throughout the city.
Rather than organizing a closed show, the brand transformed Milan into a huge interactive egg hunt. Giant transparent eggs, each containing a look from the collection, were scattered throughout the city.
Pre-registered participants received clues (often via QR codes) to help them locate the eggs. The first five to find all the eggs won a piece from the collection or a complete custom-made look. The rest of the audience could simply enjoy the visual and collective experience.
The Collection
What stands out about the Diesel SS 2026 line :
Jeans remain a signature of the Diesel brand. It's seen combined with satin effects or luminous surface treatments that create partial transparency or a play of layers.
Punk and deconstructed details: visible seams, raw or frayed finishes, surprising inserts, hybrid pieces blending utility and tailoring. We see biker jackets, utility pants, asymmetrical skirts, shredded chiffon, and hem-knits.
Palette and textures : bright colors (lilac, lime green, light shades of blue mixed with darker tones and worn effects). Varied materials: denim, satin, chiffon, knit, technical elements.
Atmosphere and message : the idea was to give "the city front row," to make the fashion experience more democratic, immersive, and accessible, breaking down the traditional barriers between the public, VIPs, and the media. Diesel embraces its "street fashion" side: rebellious and participatory.
What this means for fashion
The experience proves that it is possible to move the fashion spectacle off the runway, out of red-light districts, onto the streets, the entire city. This aligns with already visible trends in immersive shows, performances, and audience participation.
Giving direct access to the public, lifting exclusivity. Diesel is playing the card of inclusivity, playfulness, and sensory as well as visual experiences.
The use of recycled materials and denim processing techniques shows that even in pieces with a strong fashion impact, more sustainable avenues can be explored.
The style thrives on contrasts between couture and streetwear, between textile refinement and deconstruction, between public display and the intimacy of the fashion work (punk, raw, imperfect).
In conclusion
Glenn Martens doesn't just present a collection : he transformed the show into a collective adventure. Fashion can be at the same time spectacle, game, art, rebellion and the public can have a central place, not simply as a spectator, but as an actor.
